Sometimes you want to attach a tarpaulin, so it won’t flaps / flicker in the wind. Prevent it from fluttering with the wind. Those jerks and wear damage, come over time, to wear out the tarpaulin. Just hang it over and tightening it in some eyelet’s / grommets may not be enough and you need some extra attachment points. With extra attachments point son the tarp you can prevent the tarp to flicker in the wind. Tape a self-adhesive patch with two holes over a pipe / deck frame. Use the bungee cord with a needle-sharp end to make two new holes and wrap the bungee cord to attach the tarp in place. Lock with the bungee cord with J-shaped toggle.

Classic rubber cord for tarps and scaffolds

The bungee cord which are 12” (30 cm) flexes over 50%. Getting flex / softness in the attachment of a tarp is A and O. All hard jerks in a tarpaulin, wear hard and in the end it breaks. The bungee cord / shock absorber has two ends with different function. One end has a self-locking J-shaped hook. Easy to lock the bungee cord. The other end has a plastic tube with sharp tip, used to make holes in the tarpaulin. The tip makes a fairly large hole so you can squeeze through the rubber cord. Either you pull around the bungee cord around a stand + tarpaulin and back out on the other side or you use the tube as a lock on the backside, a crossbar lock. It is also possible to use in a tarpaulin eyelet. You should use a reinforcement tape with holes, to strengthen your holes.

The bungee cord has been developed for many years for scaffolds on construction and facades. When you set up a scaffold, you put a tarpaulin on the outside. A large tarpaulin that hangs several floors high can easily flutter in the wind. There you tighten the tarpaulin with this type of bungee cord. The type of tarpaulin used on scaffolding often has a cast plastic reinforcement with holes for bungee cord. The plastic reinforcement is also used to jointly together two tarpaulins.
